VPN Port Forwarding Print

  • 60

Port-forwarding is not enabled by default on our vpn nodes although it is in now offered with our "Perfect Dark" VPN Plan

We have just setup a new VPN node up with Port-forwarding enabled.  This will allow Apps like "Perfect Dark" "Retroshare" and other file-sharing apps that require a forwarded port to work properly behind our VPN service.

How does it work?
We have to manually set your internal vpn client ip to a static internal ip.
We then use iptables rules to push a specific opened port to your specific internal ip.
As this is a manual process atm(we are looking to automate it in future) it may take us time to get everyone added as beta testers so please be patient.
Once we get you added you will receive a special server.ovpn and ca.crt and your username and password and your port to use.

So how do I signup?
You can open a ticket by emailing us here vpnsupport@whattheserver.me or via client area ticket system for current clients or if new client feel free to order it here .
