The OpenVPN GUI does not work with Windows 8.1. Here are the directions:
1) Start --> CMD (Right-click, run as Administrator) *** It will not work if you do not run as Administrator ***
2) Change the Directory to the specific config file. (for me it is) -->cd C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenVPN\config\vpn01.nl.wts.me
3) Once you have changed the directory, run this code: openvpn vpn01.nl.wts.me.ovpn (or whatever your config file is called. Make sure you put the .ovpn at the end or it won't work)
4) Follow the prompts within the command line and you should be good to go!
